  • At Fetching Events & Communications, we’re always on the lookout for what’s new and what’s trending - and right now, sustainability is taking centre stage. We’ve noticed South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania leading the charge with the ban on polyethylene coffee cups and lids, making a strong move toward compostable alternatives. One South Australian company is leading the way with eco-friendly, locally made packaging that helps events stay on brand while cutting down on waste. Back home in Melbourne, another inspiring company has made a similar shift with plantable seed paper name badges that bring a fun twist to traditional badges while keeping them sustainable. As this shift continues, we’re inspired to see how small changes are driving a bigger impact across the event industry. Ready to take your event to the next level in sustainability? Get in touch with us today.  #Sustainability #Innovation #EventPlanning

  • Here at Fetching Events & Communications, keeping up with the latest venues and event spaces is a priority for us. Recently, we visited Geelong to get an up-close look at an exciting new development set to open in 2026. Our Event Manager, Melanie Stayches, recently took a hard hat tour with the Crowne Plaza Geelong team. Among the venue’s standout features are the floor-to-ceiling windows in the meeting spaces, which flood the rooms with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The upcoming SkyBar promises stunning waterfront views, offering a unique setting for events. Adding to the venue’s appeal is its location right next door to Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre, enhancing the experience with a meaningful connection to place. We look forward to seeing how this venue looks once completed in 2026! #CrownePlazaGeelong #SiteVisit

  • At Fetching Events & Communications, our curiosity drives us to constantly seek out the elements that truly make events memorable. Recently, we’ve noticed venues raising the bar in customer experience by focusing on genuine care and thoughtful touches that show true appreciation for the guest experience. The Forum in Melbourne has found a simple yet powerful way to enhance both event and customer experience by offering free water to guests immediately after the event, served in biodegradable cups along the bar bench. This was spotted recently by our Event Assistant Emily Jones, when she attended Party 101. This touch not only improved the patron comfort but also showed a duty of care (as well as commitment to sustainability). Emily also saw security personnel actively distribute water to guests at the front of the crowd, demonstrating a proactive approach to ensuring guest wellbeing and safety. This approach aligns with the growing recognition that hydration is vital during live events. Concert environments can be physically demanding and The Forum is setting a new standard for what it means to truly appreciate the guest experience.  #CustomerExperience #Wellbeing

  • Earlier this year, we hosted the third episode of our Elevating Events in 2025 Webinar Series with International Volunteer Engagement & Management Specialist, Tracey O'Neill, CVA. The conversation focused on the barriers to volunteer engagement - and more importantly, how to overcome them. Volunteers are not only the backbone of events and not-for-profits, they’re also the front line of the guest experience. When engaged well, they bring expertise, fresh energy and perspective and are the "eyes and ears" that help us adapt events in real time. Some key takeaways from the session included: ⭐Organisations must ensure volunteering fits into lives with flexibility and choice ⭐A proactive approach shifts volunteers from being passive participants to powerful changemakers ⭐With the right systems, we can create more ways to volunteer, reduce barriers and build confidence and belonging It was a powerful reminder that effective volunteer engagement is not just a support function - it’s a catalyst for stronger and more elevated events. #VolunteerRecruitment #ElevatingEvents #WebinarSeries

  • 🌟 Flexibility is the heartbeat of successful event planning. In an industry where surprises are more common than certainties, being able to pivot effectively is what sets outstanding events apart. At Fetching Events & Communications we understand there is no such thing as a sure thing. The key soft skill of any event manager is being able to face change head on and not only adapt but thrive to change. We do not employ a set and forget mentality, we approach every event flexibly understanding that anything can change in an instant and turn on a dial. Here’s how flexibility not only responds to change but drives event success: ✅ Changing circumstances: Event planning involves dealing with a variety of unpredictable factors and by having flexibility, this will lead to quickly adjusting plans to minimise disruptions. ✅ Unexpected issues: Flexible event plans allow for quick problem-solving and minimise the impact on the event's flow. ✅ Evolving needs: Events are dynamic and attendee expectations can change. Flexibility enables organisers to adapt to these changes. ✅ Inclusive Approach: Being adaptive means you can quickly support special requirements, accessibility needs or custom requests to make everyone feel valued. ✅ Stronger Relationships: Clients, venues and sponsors appreciate a “can-do” attitude, strengthening trust and connection. In today’s fast-paced world, flexible event professionals stand out. We turn challenges into opportunities and foster experiences that influence and inspire. If you want to learn more about how our flexibility can help your next event, contact us today - we’re here to help! #EventProfs #Flexibility #EventPlanning #EventSuccess

  • Last month, we were proud to once again provide event logistics and delivery support for the Victorian Catholic Secondary Schools Deputy Principals Association Annual Conference, marking our eighth consecutive year supporting this important gathering. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Peppers Marysville, Deputy and Assistant Principals from across Victoria came together for an inspiring program of keynote speakers, workshops and lightning talks, all embracing this year’s theme: Reflect, Reframe and Reimagine. It’s always a privilege to be part of a conference that sparks meaningful conversations well beyond the sessions themselves. We look forward to continuing our partnership in assisting the Victorian Catholic Secondary Schools Deputy Principals Association with their upcoming 2026 and 2027 events. #VCSSDPA2025 #ReflectReframeandReimagine
