At the inaugural Farming Forever National Summit, our Regional Economic Development Manager Bart Sykes shared how engaging early and solving problems can leave regions stronger. As a Dubbo local, he spoke about the drought impacts from 2019 and how Squadron Energy has been able to contribute to water security for the region through its partnership with Dubbo Regional Council. He also outlined the important role local councils can play in designing community benefits to deliver economic prosperity for future generations, citing the example of Keswick Estate where Squadron worked with Dubbo Regional Council to secure a site to develop temporary accommodation for workers on renewable energy projects close to Dubbo. After being used for workforce accommodation the land will be returned to council with improved access to services for future housing needs.

The latest Electricity Statement of Opportunities from Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) confirms Australia’s energy reliability hinges not just on ambition, but on timely delivery. Squadron Energy welcomes the improved reliability outlook and supports the call for timely delivering of new generation, storage and transmission. As we rebuild the energy market as coal retires, the scale and pace of new infrastructure must match the urgency of the challenge. Our own pipeline reflects this momentum, and we remain committed to delivering projects that provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy to Australian businesses and households.
