  • A huge thank you to the ARIA - Australian Recording Industry Association for another unforgettable evening at the 2025 ARIA Awards!     The night was a true celebration of Australian music, filled with powerful performances, well-deserved wins, and a shared pride in the creativity that defines our industry. Congratulations to this year’s nominees and winners, and to everyone who continues to shape Australian music.     It was wonderful to celebrate together with our incredible UMA team, whose passion and dedication make nights like this so special. We’re especially proud of our Universal Music artists, whose talent inspires us every day. Helping them share their music with the world remains at the heart of everything we do.    Special shout out to our Universal artists who delivered some unforgettable moments, from Olivia Dean’s stunning performance of Man I Need, to Missy Higgins’ beautiful Complicated Truth and the energy of Young Franco, Kobie Dee and Baker Boy performing a medley of hits!

  • Congratulations to Nicole Richards, MD of Island Records Australia, who last night took home the ARIA Executive Leader Award at the Australian Women in Music Awards!      Nicole is a leader whose career reflects a deep commitment to both the artistry and the people behind it. Making history as the first woman to be appointed Managing Director at UMA and Island Records Australia, she is one of only a few women leading a record label in the country.      In her role, Nicole leads with a bold and proactive strategic vision for improving the representation of female and gender-diverse people - not just within Island Records Australia but across the music industry, and this award reflects that.       Congratulations again from the whole UMA team!

Leading the charge, Island Records group Hilltop Hoods have secured five nominations for their ninth studio album Fall From The Light, including Best Group, Best Hip Hop/Rap Release, Best Video (Roman Anastasios and Jordan Ruyi Blanch), Best Australian Live Act and Best Cover Art(Sarah McCloskey). Fall From The Light made chart history by debuting #1 on the ARIA Album Chart, AUS Album Chart, Hip-Hop Album Chart, and Vinyl Chart earning the Hoods their sixth consecutive and seventh #1 ARIA Album, as well as the ARIA Record for Most #1 Albums on the ARIA Album Chart by an Australian Group. EMI artist Missy Higgins follows closely with four nominations for her triumphant fifth studio album The Second Act, nominated for Album Of The Year, Best Solo Artist, Best Adult Contemporary Album and Best Video. Her first release in six years made history by debuting at No. 1 on the ARIA Chart, cementing Higgins as only the seventh Australian artist to achieve No. 1 albums across three consecutive decades. The critically acclaimed album has generated over 80,000 tour ticket sales and earned praise as "raw, emotional and soothing" and "one of the most quietly profound, nuanced break-up albums you'll ever hear."
