Sword Active Risk awarded Downer an Innovation Award for its outstanding approach to risk management in its business practices across the organisation. The award was presented to Jason Breton of Downer who used Active Risk Manager (ARM) to manage safety and risk for all of its freight and passenger rail projects. Breton was the architect of the company’s SHREQ approach which applied contemporary risk management strategies to the identification of safety risks that are connected to key business operations and functions. At the heart of that approach Downer developed the first Australian ‘live’ risk register that operates across disciplines, is enterprise-wide and national.” Keith Ricketts, VP of Marketing at Sword Active Risk stated; “Our Innovation Award is a discretionary award that recognizes exceptional effort and merit. Downer has won this award for its outstanding approach to risk management across the organization. Downer’s unique framework and application of ARM demonstrates how risk is central to their business and the service that they provide to customers. We are seeing many of our customers now embracing risk management cultures across their business operations and this award serves to highlight Downer’s lead in this important and growing area
