  • Last week, we celebrated inclusive mobility at the UCI World Para-cycling Championships! 🚲 Held in Ronse, Belgium, it was a global celebration of athleticism and elite sport. With 328 athletes from 51 countries, the races showcased performance, determination, and international camaraderie. John, from the Toyota team, helped behind the scenes, making a difference through small but meaningful gestures. It reflects our broader belief that mobility should empower everyone, regardless of ability. #MobilityForAll

  • We are taking steps toward circularity with the launch of our first end-of-life vehicle dismantling plant — the Toyota Circular Factory.   The initiative applies Toyota Production System principles to dismantling operations: 🟢 standardising processes 🟢 reducing waste 🟢 improving efficiency   Our goal is to deliver recycled materials back into our supply chain, supporting the use of car-to-car recycled elements in future vehicles.   Kudos to the team driving this forward!

Toyota Production System in Reverse Today I am delighted to announce that Ali Umit Sengezer Toyota's Head of CE and Craig Marston our manager of Toyota’s Circular Factory with their teams, have taken our 1st end of life vehicle dismantling plant live, but there are 1,000’s of dismantlers so what make us unique. Firstly, our objective is not only to make money from selling used parts and scrap but to collect and deliver recyclable feedstock to our supply chain ensuring a clear pathway to achieving our goal of maximising car to car recycled materials into our next generation of vehicles. Toyota Production Systems (TPS) is well known for bringing quality and efficiency to our new vehicle production plants around the world, but now we are applying this same philosophy to dismantle vehicles. This allows us to create a standardized repeatable business model. ·      By applying “Just in time” and Muda (waste) elimination we have dramatically reduced the space needed ·      We run an 8 pitch dismantling line at a fixed tact time (speed), allowing us to implement Standardised work and achieve our full capacity target of dismantling one car every 3 hours ·      With standardised work, we can start to Kaizen (continuous improve) the process to deliver even more profit and feedstock with the same effort ·      By following the Jidoka (automation with the human touch) mindset we are perfecting our processes before introducing technology, thereby reducing start-up capital investment ·      We have the mindset of absolute safety, ensuring every one of our members goes home in the same condition he arrived at work This is only the beginning of Toyota playing our part in improving the professionality of the dismantler industry As I have said before, Toyota can’t do Circularity by our selves so please share or like this post
