CPKC said today that the company is not interested in participating in immediate rail industry consolidation, despite the suggestions by some that it take part. CPKC does not believe that further rail consolidation is necessary for the industry as currently structured. We are setting the pace for Class 1 railroads with another A grade on Amtrak's annual Host Railroad Report Card, our nineth year in a row. Today, Amtrak President Roger Harris presented CPKC’s Danny Torres, VP Transportation, with a plaque recognizing CPKC as Amtrak’s best performing host railroad in 2024. This Best Host Railroad award is based on Host Responsible Delays (HRDs) per 10,000 train miles—a critical measure of the efficiency and reliability of host railroad operations.
