    Discover Charlottetown Becomes First Official DMO Partner of ITAC’s Indigenous Tourism Destination Fund The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) is proud to announce that Discover Charlottetown has become the first official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) partner of the Indigenous Tourism Destination Fund (#ITDF)—marking a significant milestone for the growth and sustainability of Indigenous tourism in Canada. Through this partnership, Discover Charlottetown has committed to investing in the ITDF.   • We are proud to share that Destination Canada has been named the winning Destination Marketing Organization in the 2025 Skift IDEA Awards! 🎉 Destination Canada is internationally recognized for our International Convention Attraction Fund (ICAF) – a cornerstone of our three-pillared program to empower and support Canadian DMOs in attracting global conferences. By providing financial incentives of up to $1 million per eligible event bid, the ICAF has enabled cities including Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, Quebec City, Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and St. John’s to secure major international conferences – strengthening their global profile and delivering significant anticipated economic impact. ➡️ As of July 2025, the program supported 69 won events, expected to bring nearly 213,000 overnight delegates to Canada and generate $549.5 million in direct economic impact in future years. 🇨🇦 In the 2025 Skift IDEA Awards, Destination Canada was also named a finalist in 6 categories for our work in leading Team Canada with the insight, strategy, and global reach needed to turn Canada’s tourism potential into real economic power.
