🌍✨ Intellectual Property matters in sport — globally and locally IOC Member Damaris I. Young A. recently emphasised the critical role of intellectual property (IP) protection for the IOC and sport event organisers. From safeguarding emblems and broadcast rights to ensuring fair commercial opportunities, IP is a cornerstone of sustainable sport development. 🏝️ The Caribbean region holds immense potential to host successful sporting events. As interest grows, so does the need to protect the unique assets that make these events thrive. 🤝 That’s why the IOC collaborates with World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO organization to raise awareness and build capacity around IP in sport — ensuring that organisers, athletes, and communities benefit fully and fairly. #Olympics #IntellectualProperty

The LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games Organising Committee has unveiled its Impact and Sustainability Plan, designed to deliver a uniquely Californian legacy that reflects the region’s values and ambitions. #LA28 is committed to creating lasting benefits for people and the planet — before, during and long after the Games: ✅ radical reuse ✅ inclusivity ✅ community benefit ✅ resilience 💡 Built on collaboration, transparency and innovation, this plan is a blueprint for how major events can drive positive change. "Recent Games editions, particularly Paris 2024, showed the power of the Games to accelerate transformation, from new transport links to expanded green spaces. LA28 is now charting its own course. The underlying principle is the same – minimising negative impacts and maximising positive ones – but the execution is distinctly Californian: relying on iconic existing venues, investing in resilience, and designing programmes that respond directly to the needs of Angelenos today."
