You have probably not heard of Letoire Primary School in Kajiado County, some 110 kilometres from Nairobi, yet it is here that our Kuehne+Nagel #Kenya team gathered for an important event. Located in an area predominantly occupied by Maasai communities, the school provides education to over 500 boys and girls. In the early years of education, the number of girls compared to boys is usually at par, but as they progress to upper primary levels, girls’ attendance drops significantly due to sanitary challenges and cultural traditions. The schoolchildren have long struggled with access to clean water and sanitary facilities, both at school and, especially for girls, at home. To help improve this situation, Kuehne+Nagel Kenya donated two 10,000-litre capacity water tanks for rainwater harvesting. In addition, 5,000 sanitary pads were distributed to female students to address the impact of period poverty, and ten refurbished desktop computers were delivered and installed at the school to enhance digital learning. “To make a positive impact on the communities around us, especially by improving learning conditions for children in remote parts of Kenya, is both our #responsibility and our honour,” concluded Isaack Olwal, National QSHE Manager, Kuehne+Nagel Kenya, during the visit to Letoire Primary School.

We’re proud to share that the largest floating drydock ever built in Türkiye has been successfully transported from Yalova to San Diego by the Kuehne+Nagel Project Logistics team. Commissioned by General Dynamics NASSCO, this 17,300-tonne, 242-meter-long drydock couldn’t take the usual route through the Panama Canal. Instead, our team engineered a custom transcontinental plan, navigating the treacherous Strait of Magellan aboard the mighty BOKA Vanguard from Boskalis, ultimately landing first in Long Beach before reaching its final destination in San Diego. From predictive weather modeling to precision tug coordination, this project was anything but routine. It was a feat of logistics, engineering, and global collaboration—culminating in a flawless handover in San Diego. From Germany to the northernmost point of Alaska! Some shipments really stand out. This was the case of a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner that made the journey all the way from Erlangen, Germany, to its destination at a hospital in Barrow (Utqiagvik), Alaska - one of North America’s most remote locations. An MRI is a non-invasive imaging technology that plays a vital role in disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment monitoring. This sensitive and high-value piece of medical equipment travelled across borders and required specialised handling and transportation services, including a full plane charter, to reach its destination. It was more than just a shipment; it would become an essential part of the Barrow (Utqiagvik) community’s healthcare infrastructure. #AirLogistics #healthcare #Alaska
