  • Image Aesthetics Depends On Context

    2015 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), Quebec City, QC, Canada

    We investigate the influence of low-level image features for aesthetics prediction. We show that the aesthetic quality of a photography depends on its context. Image features learned from a specific image category are not necessarily the same as features learned from a generic image collection. Experiments conducted on specific image categories show that specific features obtain statistically significantly better results than generic ones.

  • Professional vs. Non-Professional photos

    –Heute

    The goal is to compare photos taken by professional and amateur photographers. Several datasets were created and used to collect numerical features.
    A SVM classifier was then trained, using the top features, to distinguish between them.
    This project not only aims at having a good classification accuracy, but also at having a deep understanding on how to make a good photo.

  • Gaze tracker

    –

    The goal was to build a system to track gaze of a public, in order to change the color of the light of a scene for example.
    An Android application was built so that it can track your gaze by placing your phone in front of yourself. It was estimating the direction of your gaze and sending this information to a server which was controlling the light of the scene.

    Technical environment: Android Development, OpenCV for Android, Open Sound Control (OSC),and Processing
