DuPagePads Together we can end homelessness!

A Warm and Filling Thanksgiving
at the Interim Housing Center!

Pictured below, our friends from Meson Sabika deliveringThanksgiving meals to the IHC!

Thanksgiving is a special time of gatherings and gratitude for most. This year will mark the first year since opening the Interim Housing Center in 2022 that a warm Thanksgiving feast can be served directly from the Community Kitchen you helped us to build. Thank you for helping all the guests at DuPagePads Interim Housing Center to have a safe place to gather as families and neighbors and enjoy the offerings of 310 hot turkey meals provided by our generous friends at Meson Sabika, and served by wonderful board members, staff, and volunteers on this special day. Your support brings a hearty helping of kindness and deliciousness directly to our neighbors living in shelter, reminding them they are not alone, and we all have much to be thankful for!

We are so blessed and thankful for YOU! The gratitude we have for your ongoing kindness remains as strong as ever this Thanksgiving, and we are so thankful as we gather and say grace for the gifts you provide to help others this holiday season.

Jerrick is one of the many guests your gifts have helped at DuPagePads. He now has a home of his own, and shared his gratitude recently to DuPagePads' supporters at our Wake Up Your Spirit Day breakfast earlier this month. His own words about how having a home, a meal, and kindness can make you feel human again illustrate what your help makes possible for the many neighbors like him that are moving from homelessness to independence and stable housing. Hear his powerful words, and listen to his story about his journey to a home of his own by clicking below.

From all the families and neighbors you have helped to reach housing, the many in shelter today at our IHC growing closer to celebrating the holidays in a home of their own, and from our dedicated staff whose work you help make possible, we wish you and your loved ones a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

Help spread happiness and kindness this holiday season with two meaningful ways to give.

Can you help fill a neighbors plate this holiday season by providing much-needed shelf-stable food items included on our Urgent Needs List? Last year you helped provide 325,059 meals for an average of 300 individuals, including 100 children, safely in shelter at the Interim Housing Center. Thanks to your kindness and generosity more meals will continue to be available this year. Items can be donated in the following ways:

  • 24/7 orange donation boxes in front of 703 W. Liberty, Wheaton, IL 60187

  • In-person drop off at at 703 W. Liberty, Wheaton, IL 60187 Monday-Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
