As part of the EU-funded PROACTIF project, 42 European partners from research and industry are collaborating with Nokia to develop a new multi-sensor system designed specifically for drones. The German consortium, led by Fraunhofer IZM, is developing an innovative multi-sensor module that automatically detects heat. This compact unit combines radar and infrared technology, in which Heimann Sensor plays a crucial role. The combination of short- and long-range radar with three innovative packaging technologies results in a lightweight, robust system that can detect the precise location of pockets of embers in forest fires, even beneath the tree canopy. Things are very exciting at our Eltville site right now: we are getting a heat pump that uses geothermal energy. Several ground drillings and the corresponding pipes are being installed at a depth of about 100 meters. And this is what the geothermal driller looks like in action in the thermal video.

Finally I caught St. Martin! It was pitch dark before the bonfire was lit, just a chain of green lights on St. Martin were visible. But thanks to our infrared products (App Set including Heimann Sensor HTPA160x120d), St. Martin and "his partner" and the entire scene in front of the trees became visible.

Have a look at this beautiful bonfire seen through our Heimann Sensor 160x120d array... I found it impressive how clearly you can see the kids in front and behind the fire and even the outlines of the trees. The infrared movie shows more details than you could see by the naked eye!

🔥Do you know the St. Martin Celebration around the 11th of November, where children walk through the streets with homemade lanterns, sing songs, and are often led by someone dressed as St. Martin on a horse? Together with our partners Fraunhofer IZM, Heimann Sensor GmbH, InnoSenT GmbH, and viavia Electronic, we met at our headquarters in Niedernhall to work on multi-sensory systems designed to detect people in need and identify fire sources early – all with the goal of saving lives when every second matters. 💡Especially impressive - the factory tour!
