    30 million designs in under 30 minutes—lightspeed fast development with AI The MAHLE penguin-inspired bionic radial blower is boosting efficiency while significantly reducing noise emissions in automotive HVAC applications. A decisive factor for the rapid development process was MAHLE‘s own AI tool—merging bionic principles with MAHLE’s cutting-edge AI technology. Here’s how it works: MAHLE engineers guided the AI—with our AI Boost Loop, they were able to combine predictive AI and generative AI in a closed control loop. This enables the rapid generation and evaluation of 30 million fan blade designs—including performance data—in just 30 minutes. At MAHLE we call this “Superhuman Engineering“.     MAHLE brings e-compressor production to the USA First MAHLE e-compressors for the North American market to be manufactured in Morristown/Tennessee. For decades, the Morristown plant has been producing steel pistons. Now, with the addition of about 50 new employees, the facility will begin manufacturing state-of-the-art e-compressors, bringing together components for combustion engines and electric vehicles under one roof. E-compressors are the beating heart of an electric vehicle's air conditioning and refrigerant circuit. Optimizing battery life, cruising range and charging efficiency—while ensuring passenger comfort in summer and winter. “Starting the e-compressor production in Morristown, Tennessee, marks an important milestone for MAHLE as we further strengthen our footprint in the USA and our role as local employer,” says MAHLE CEO Arnd Franz. “This extension is a great example of successfully transforming a production plant formerly fully dedicated to internal combustion engines by launching electrification products for future mobility—a clear investment in the plant’s future.” MAHLE sincerely appreciates the outstanding support of state and local officials, as well as the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). This MAHLE innovation allows for smaller, more cost-effective batteries without compromising long-distance capability—enabling e-mobility solutions that take consumer acceptance to the next level. The share of Range Extended Electric Vehicles (REEVs) worldwide is projected to grow by 15% annually until 2030. The beating heart of our system is a permanently excited 800V electric generator with a fully integrated cooling system. In addition to a high peak efficiency of 97 percent and more, this design ensures a high continuous performance density, minimizing material and space requirements as well as costs.
