But what does that actually mean? At 𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀, we're using the power of DNA to fold into programmable nanostructures and unlock a new level of control in biochip design — not just building chips, but designing molecular machinery. With DNA origami, we can: ✅ Precisely place molecules - down to the nanometer ✅ Combine different types of molecules on a single chip (DNA, proteins, nanoparticles, fluorophores, etc.) ✅ Tailor each structure to specific functions - creating entirely new opportunities for sensing, diagnostics, and more. 🧠 Each sensing unit is no longer just a random surface coating, but a carefully folded structure, built to detect 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱, and nothing else. 🧪 Or a platform where multiple targets can be analysed simultaneously, thanks to the 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗡𝗔 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗶. But today we are excited to share that 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿: we are revolutionising biochip technology at the molecular level.🚀 Together with Nanogami and with support from SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen we have been working on the development of DNA Based biochips that are  • Highly precise on a single molecule level  • Customisable, enabling the design of a whole new world of functionality  • Scalable and easily mass produced 𝗛𝗼𝘄? 🔍 DNA origami is a technique that uses the natural base-pairing rules of DNA to fold long strands into specific shapes at the nanoscale. Think of it like molecular-scale engineering—where we can precisely arrange molecules to create functional, 3D structures. This level of control allows us to build nano-devices with applications in diagnostics, sensing, and more. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀🧬 Developing DNA-based biochips will enable a future full of new possibilities in medical diagnostics and personalised healthcare, a future where solutions are accessible because they’re cheap while increasing the complexity of what they can achieve.     At our Christmas-Party last Friday we took the time to 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. A year so full of big milestones it is hard to imagine it all happened in such a short time. 🌟 We 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲, a lab that made a lot of scientific dreams come true. Having space to grow for the next years and state-of-the-art equipment will allow us to further push research with DNA Origami. 🌟 Since the beginning of the year 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝟯𝟬%, with 9 new people joining Nanogami. And with every new hire we gained new expertise, but even more important, a new member of the Nano Revolution. 🌟 That also means we needed to introduce 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 to manage our growing teams. Having a great coach like Denise Harrison helped them further develop their skills and grow into the new responsibilities. 🌟 We have entered 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆-𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 like Refeyn and tilibit nanosystems to develop DNA-Origami based applications that will help advancing precision medicine. 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗪𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗗 𝗙𝗨𝗡. No matter if it is going to the Oktoberfest together, having a Barbecue, competing in a Pub-Quiz or one of our countless creative evenings.     🚀 Excited to share that together with tilibit nanosystems we collaborate on a research project to develop biochips designed for the specific capture and release of antibodies (IgG) and adeno-associated virus (AAV) particles on Refeyn's mass photometry instruments, as well as binding and unbinding rates across a diverse range of target classes.   What sets our approach apart? Our biochips offer highly specific binding capabilities, eliminating the need for probe purification while still delivering exceptional results.
