🆙 From Contributor to Core Team 🆙
No résumé. No connections. No crypto job experience.
Just a Madrid-based engineer, a Twitter account, and relentless curiosity.
Today, Paco Navarro is a Senior Associate of Business Development at Orderly, a fast-growing crypto infrastructure project. Two years ago, he was working at an aviation software company in Spain. The bridge? Not a recruiter. Not a job board. Just a series of small, “boring” actions done consistently.
This is the playbook, drawn from a real Bondex community member who actually made it.
Step 1: Learn Loud, Lose Small 🎯
Paco didn’t take a course or join a cohort. He joined Discords, traded tokens, and yes, lost money.
He calls it “the cost of a second master’s.” Failure became tuition, not defeat.
Step 2: Find a Project You’d Help Even If You Weren’t Paid 🧠
He vibed with WOO X through its WOO Force community. No job offer. No guaranteed outcome.
He showed up: joined calls, read docs, hosted a meetup in Madrid. That’s how trust is built: publicly and consistently.
Step 3: Own the “Boring” Work 🧹
He wasn’t shipping flashy features. He was answering questions, helping onboard users, and organizing events.
Those low-glamour wins built credibility fast.
Step 4: Take Initiative, Even If You’re Not Ready 👀
When WOO launched its incubator, Paco raised his hand to help with any upcoming project, eager to keep learning and gaining experience. He flew to TOKEN2049 in Dubai to meet the WOO team in person, and since WOO and Orderly work closely together, that’s where he first connected with the Orderly team. That effort paid off.
Step 5: Use Twitter as Your Portfolio 💡
He shared what he was learning, asked smart questions, and tagged the right people.
He didn’t need 10,000 followers, just the right few to notice.
Step 6: When the Role Opens, You’re Already Inside 🧩
When Orderly posted an internship, Paco didn’t apply cold. He messaged someone who’d seen him contribute.
He nailed the 3-month trial. Today, he works full-time helping projects launch their own perp DEXs and creating awareness about Orderly, especially within the Spanish community.
The Real Lesson 💼
Paco didn’t ask, “How do I get hired?”
He asked, “How can I help?” And then he kept showing up until the answer was obvious.
“Be open to contributing for free at first to learn and gain trust. Real contributions matter more than backgrounds.” —Paco N.
