JOURNEY with us to watch Champagne BILLECART-SALMON team of pickers hard at work for 'les vendanges' (the grape harvest). You’ll see them hand-selecting every single bunch of grapes, a ritual that has endured for generations. Every gesture contributes to a shared experience where skill, patience, and teamwork come together in the heart of the vineyards. An artisanship that perpetuates a profound connection to these ancient vines, and to nature itself, in the pursuit of crafting the finest champagne possible. Because preserving tradition where it counts is fundamental to Relais & Châteaux, and shared by all our partners. #relaischateaux #billecartsalmon

The final stop in this year’s series of Delegation Meetings took place in New Delhi, bringing together the Indian Subcontinent & South-East Asia Delegation. After months of gatherings across the world, this meeting closed the season with the same spirit that defined them all: meaningful exchange, regional pride, and a strong sense of belonging. Hosted at the SUJÁN office, the day brought our members together to share updates and celebrate milestones. Among them, Cape Weligama and SUJÁN Jawai were honored for their 10-year jubilees, while Ranbaas The Palace,Patiala and Sitara Himalaya joined their first-ever delegation meeting, marking the beginning of a new chapter within our global family. The programme also included a conversation between President Laurent Gardinier and eminent journalist Vir Sanghvi, offering an insightful perspective on the evolving role of hospitality and Relais & Châteaux’s place within it. #RelaisChateaux #ASenseOfBelonging

RELAIS & CHÂTEAUX MEMBERS RECORD AN EXCELLENT SALES VOLUME OF €3.2 BILLION, RISING BY 8% The association of independent hotels and restaurants publishes the results of its annual business survey, reporting a cumulative sales volume—based on data collected from 92% of its members—of €3.2 billion for the year 2024. Relais & Châteaux member sales volume increased by 8% compared to 2023, despite an unstable geopolitical context. This growth confirms the Association’s strategy, focused on quality and the development of the Relais & Châteaux network. For over 70 years, Relais & Châteaux has been a true hallmark of excellence for the most discerning travelers. Laurent Gardinier, President of the Association, along with the entire Board of Directors, have chosen to emphasize quality by increasing the frequency of inspections, now conducted every two years instead of every three. Since his appointment in 2023, 68 new members have joined the network across 33 countries, illustrating the network’s dynamism and appeal. Cuisine—at the heart of the association’s DNA—has more than ever established itself as a major economic driver for Relais & Châteaux. The Association represents the largest network of gastronomic restaurants in the world. With 42.1% of sales volume and an 8% increase compared to 2023, food & beverage activity nearly matches the hotel rooms segment (49%, +9% vs 2023), reaffirming the balance between the Association’s two historic pillars. These findings are based on a lasting relationship of trust with loyal guests: 58% of Relais & Châteaux clients say they would not have stayed at the property if it had not been part of the network, according to the latest consumer study conducted by the Association*. This highlights the strength of the bond between the brand and its travelers, confirming consumer preference for authentic experiences rooted in local culture. * Relais & Châteaux 2024 consumer study, conducted by Vertone in France, the UK, the US, Switzerland, and Germany, based on a panel of 2,491 travelers staying in 4- or 5-star hotels, including Relais & Châteaux clients #RelaisChateaux

What kind of world do we want to help shape through cuisine and hospitality? This question was at the heart of a recent press lunch in Tokyo, where three remarkable chefs: Shin Takagi (Zeniya, Kanazawa), Gary Yin (King’s Joy, Beijing), and Takeshi Kamo (The Kitano Hotel Tokyo, Tokyo), came together to create a thoughtful, biodiversity-focused menu. More than just a meal, the event was a shared reflection on the role of chefs and hoteliers in protecting ecosystems, especially in our oceans. In November 2024, Relais & Châteaux announced 12 new Commitments to guide the Association toward a more sustainable future. Each of the chefs brought those values to life in their own way through their delicious preparations, showing that meaningful change begins with tangible everyday choices, both on land and at sea. #RelaisChateaux #InHarmonyWithAllLifeOnEarth

Members of the Japan and Greater China delegations came together at Kitano Hotel in Tokyo last week for a joint Relais & Châteaux Delegation Meeting, a moment marked by cultural exchange. During the meeting, members reviewed international and regional updates, and enjoyed moments of local tradition, including a tea ceremony that offered a quiet space for connection and reflection. Above all, the meeting was an opportunity to strengthen relationships and reaffirm the shared values that unite our members. #RelaisChateaux #ASenseOfBelonging

The Road to Happiness (Still) Begins in France In 1954, a group of visionary hoteliers set out to re-imagine hospitality along France’s popular vacation route, the Nationale 7. What started as a charming group of eight countryside inns would eventually evolve into Relais & Châteaux. In their latest feature, Oprah Daily explores how our now-global family has remained so intimate, thoughtful, and loyal to its founding values — speaking with our President, Laurent Gardinier, and Laurent Mounet, Maître de Maison at Villa Gallici 5* - Relais & Châteaux in Aix-en-Provence. On May 15, President of Relais & Châteaux Laurent Gardinier represented the association at the Institut Lyfe (Ex-Institut Paul Bocuse) Foundation’s very first gala, held at Pavillon Gabriel in Paris, to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Created in 2015 by Gérard Pélisson, the Foundation plays a key role in supporting hospitality education through scholarships, research, and infrastructure development. Relais & Châteaux is proud to stand with this inspiring initiative, helping shape the future of our profession and the next generation of hospitality leaders. This year, we collaborated with over 70 schools and supported several student initiatives, including the "Olivier Roellinger Contest" organized by Ethic Ocean (and in partnership with Lycée Hôtelier de Dinard, Yvon Bourges and FERRANDI Paris) and the “Sustainability In Hospitality” competition organized by L'Alliance de l'Institut Lyfe. #RelaisChateaux
