One year ago, Maison Ruinart unveiled the metamorphosis of its historic site at 4 RUE DES CRAYÈRES. This emblematic address invites visitors to explore its gardens, bar, and cellars, whose crayères are celebrating a decade of UNESCO World Heritage status this year. To mark this anniversary, Maison Ruinart welcomed Dutch artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde to present a luminous performance in Reims. Known for exploring the link between design, technology, and nature, the artist presented “SPARK”, a performance that reinvents traditional celebrations offering a sustainable alternative to polluting fireworks and balloons, without explosions, noise, or residue, inspired by fireflies and luminous jellyfish. For its 2025 edition, the Prix Maison Ruinart was awarded to the French photographer Marine Lanier. In partnership with Paris Photo, the Prix Maison Ruinart has been highlighting the work of emerging photographers for the past seven years. During her residency in Champagne, Marine Lanier created her series "Alchimia", a mysterious, almost mystical world where the infinitely small meets the infinitely large, and where earthly and celestial elements intertwine. Through encounters with local figures and explorations from the Crayères to the Marne river, she gathered fragments of reality, later combined with studio shots and archival images to compose a visual fable. Her vertical compositions, with golden, black and silver hues printed on brushed aluminium, form a philosophical tale, an invitation to decode the signs of the living world and the timeless bonds between humanity and nature.
