About the Company

Kasagi Labo is acquiring anime IPs and building an AI-powered social platform that connects fans and creators more effectively than traditional methods, automating and enhancing interactions like fan engagement and content creation, and proving so innovative that it’s fostering a global community and redefining anime fandom. We’ve raised one of the largest seed rounds in SEA totalling US$20M to build out our vision. The team is small because we can’t hire great people as fast as the company is growing.

About the Role

Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile apps using React Native.

Responsibilities

• Use Redux Toolkit and RTK Query for state management, data fetching, caching, and optimistic updates.
• Translate Figma designs into clean, reusable UI components.
• Ensure responsiveness and performance across devices and OS versions.
• Write robust tests (unit, integration, E2E) using Jest, React Native Testing Library, and Detox.
• Integrate REST APIs and implement error handling and fallback mechanisms.
• Monitor and resolve production issues using Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, and Flipper.
• Participate in agile development processes, including code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

• Must have +5 years of experience building apps with React Native in a production environment.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Solid experience with Redux Toolkit and RTK Query for state and data management.
• Familiarity with REST API integration, caching strategies, and offline support.
• Understanding of mobile navigation (e.g., React Navigation), gesture handling, and component lifecycle.
• Experience with Git and modern collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to debug performance issues and memory bottlenecks.

Required Skills

• Experience building interactive UI/UX with react-native-reanimated or react-native-gesture-handler.
• Familiarity with Expo (managed or bare workflow).
• Knowledge of offline data persistence (e.g., AsyncStorage, redux-persist).
• Exposure to CI/CD tools like EAS, Fastlane, or Bitrise.
• Published apps in the App Store or Google Play.
• Contributions to open-source React Native libraries.
• Experience working in lean, fast-paced startup teams.

Pay range and compensation package

Base cash compensation starts at RM84,000 — but we're ready to invest more for exceptional talent.
