The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) is pleased to announce a two-day virtual training programme, scheduled for 29th and 30th September 2025, delivered via the CIF Virtual Classroom. 🎓 Each module offers 12 CPD points, with an assessment at the conclusion of each session. This programme will provide in-depth instruction on: 🔹 Part B: Fire Safety (29th September) Topics include fire safety provisions for both dwellings and non-dwellings, encompassing warning and escape strategies, internal and external fire spread, smoke control systems, sprinkler requirements, and access for firefighting. 🔹 Part J: Heat Producing Appliances (30th September) Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the safe installation of heat-producing appliances, including air supply, chimney and flue design, carbon monoxide mitigation, hearth construction, and fuel storage. As a new school year starts, many young people will be thinking about their future career. 👩🏭👷👩🔧🧑💼👨🔬👨💻👩🎓 In this first episode of our brand-new video series spotlighting the Suir Engineering apprenticeship programme, we take you inside Suir’s Apprentice Centre of Excellence, where innovation meets hands-on learning. 🥽 We also hear from Apprentice Programme Manager, Ronan Quinn, who shares valuable insights into how the programme is structured, and what makes it such a powerful stepping stone for future talent. The Suir apprenticeship programme is delivered in partnership with SOLAS (An tSeirbhís Oideachais Leanúnaigh agus Scileanna). Over the course of four years (208 weeks), apprentices progress through seven distinct phases: 🔧 Four phases on-the-job with Suir Engineering, gaining practical experience across real-world projects. 🎓 Three phases off-the-job with SOLAS, focusing on technical training and classroom-based learning.
