At the National Sports Day Conclave in Mumbai, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse unveiled a major push to encourage sports equipment startups under the Make in India initiative. By shifting production from imports to world-standard indigenous manufacturing, athletes will benefit from lower costs, while startups gain fresh opportunities in research, development, and global partnerships. Smt. Khadse stressed that indigenous manufacturing would not only ease financial burdens on players but also play a transformative role in India’s sports economy. India and Japan have set a visionary goal of 10 Tn yen (USD 68 Bn) in Japanese investments in India over the next 10 years. The Indian space ecosystem continues to soar as Pixxel and Dhruva Space achieve successful launches aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. Bengaluru-based Pixxel deployed three Firefly satellites, completing the first phase of its commercial constellation and creating India’s largest private-sector earth imaging satellite system.
