  • If procurement teams want to gain more influence, they need to invest more time in understanding the bigger picture. One component is being aware how company dynamics influence the culture, the way we get things done here, and how procurement teams can help influence their organisation for more business value creation.

WHEN ORGANISATIONS GROW… they might get lost in translation. I have worked in big corporates, scale ups and have been in touch with start ups. And this is what I observed over time. What was once clear, fast, and experimental — slowly becomes structured, risk-averse, and… comfortable. 1️⃣ Clarity on Purpose: What was obvious to the founders becomes diluted as new layers get added. The mission is written, but no longer felt. 2️⃣ Commercial Acumen: Entrepreneurial instincts are replaced by reports and KPIs. The “why” behind decisions gets buried under the “how.” 3️⃣ Entrepreneurial Risk-taking & Accountability: People stop taking ownership because someone else “owns the process.” 4️⃣ Speed & Agility: Meetings replace movement. Experiments wait for approvals. Progress slows to avoid mistakes. 5️⃣ Customer Obsession: Internal alignment takes priority over customer delight — the focus shifts inward. 6️⃣ Cross-functional Collaboration: Silos creep in. Teams optimize for their own metrics instead of shared outcomes. BUT WAIT These six traits built the business in the first place. To scale without losing them — hire people who question their own experience, who bring structure but protect curiosity. Build scalable processes in a way that support accountability and experimentation whilst keeping growing companies safe. 💬 Which of these six dimensions do you see fading most as organizations grow? Stay tuned, as I will share my thoughts on how to partially unwind complexity in enterprises to get engagement back for more business impact. #Leadership #BusinessTransformation #Culture #Entrepreneurship #GrowthMindset

  • As a mentor of humans, it is important to share experience around leadership styles, when they are most appropriate and why. As I am emerging myself into the Ai transformation through agents and orchestration, it is obvious that we need to take a similar approach when designing our agents. Situational analysis is key. 1️⃣ Understand the goal we try to achieve 2️⃣ The need for / existence of clarity on how to get there 3️⃣ Level of support required Let’s look beyond one single approach and be the orchestrator of change by applying the needed leadership style for a given situation. Are you ready to embark on that journey?

Delegation isn’t just for humans. We are fast moving into an era of agentic co-working. So how do you scale leadership — with people and with AI? The situational leadership matrix might help with your AI agent strategy: ❗ Clear task? -> Use automation. ❗ Need autonomy with oversight? -> Autonomous AI fits. ❗ Co-create outcomes? -> Conversational agents are your ally. ❗ Trust the system to handle it end-to-end? -> delegate to advanced AI. As with people, matching task clarity and support needs allows you to select the most impactful approach. Leadership evolves. And so should your delegation. How do you approach this #Futureofwork with your teams?

Listening to different companies over the past months, different patterns have emerged in how companies are approaching and rolling out AI initiatives: Across functions, teams, and cultures. Here is my take in a 2x2 matrix along those two dimensions: 📌 Structured enablement vs ad-hoc adoption 📌 Top down versus bottom up momentum The result reveals a lot. 1️⃣ Some organizations are building AI into their DNA. 2️⃣ Others are spinning in pilot loops or 3️⃣ letting innovation scatter in silos. Assess where you are and where you need to move. Does this frame resonate with you? Take a look at the carousel. Find your quadrant. Change management that focuses on people and technology is a must: 📌 what’s helping us move forward? 📌 what’s holding us back? 📌 how can I influence the way we adopt AI in my company? #AI #DigitalTransformation #ChangeLeadership #CIO #InnovationCulture #GenAI #OrgDesign #FutureOfWork

Leadership in 2025: The shift we can’t ignore. Some days ago, I promised to share my thoughts on how leadership competencies are evolving in an AI-augmented business world. So, here I am. Providing my perspective. As a strong supporter of the Lominger leadership competency model, I’m using it to highlight a fundamental shift: - From a traditional, hierarchical leadership model - To a more fluid, influence-driven leadership paradigm. 📌 Why this shift? 1️⃣  Geopolitics & sustainability → Leaders must now navigate global uncertainties while embedding sustainability into core strategy. 2️⃣  AI & automation → Decision-making is no longer just a human factor. Decision quality will now depend on how best to integrate AI-driven insights into strategic thinking and actioning. 3️⃣  Gen Z & workforce expectations → Leadership is shifting towards more coaching and empowerment, as younger employees expect autonomy, purpose, and continuous learning, yet leaders need to invest into clarity of direction to channel empowerment towards business priorities. 📌  What’s changing? Traditional leadership relied on measuring work, motivating teams, and process management. In 2025 and beyond, the winning competencies include: ✅ Strategic Agility → Leaders must adapt rapidly in volatile environments. ✅ Influencing Without Authority → Teams are flatter, and leaders must drive change across networks. Effective storytelling is a valuable asset. ✅ Digital Fluency & AI Literacy → Leaders must understand how to make best use of AI opportunities and remain aware of developments. ✅ Building & Leading Virtual Teams → A more consulting type approach on cross-functional collaboration, requires an update on how we measure performance and reward talent. To conclude Leadership is changing. It’s about how effectively you inspire, you influence, and you integrate technology into decision-making. What do you think? Are leaders ready for this transformation? Which competency do you see as most critical in 2025? #Leadership #AI #FutureOfWork #Sustainability #DigitalTransformation #NextGenLeadership Tom Mills

Yesterday evening, I went to an event which made me reflect on what makes individuals and teams change their beliefs ... or not. Why do most change initiatives fail? Because we assume people will change just because it makes sense. They won’t. 🚨 Logic alone doesn’t shift behaviors. 🚨 Mandates don’t create commitment. 🚨 One email won’t drive adoption. So, how do you make change stick? Flip through the carousel to find out. People don’t resist change—they resist unclear, imposed, or ignored change. For the trailblazers and early adopters, their curiosity needs to be sparked. For the followers, peer pressure increases. Bottom line, do this: ✅ Make it emotional. ✅ Leverage peer influence. ✅ Reinforce the message. ✅ Show small wins. ✅ Align incentives. ✅ Celebrate & recognise wins. Tell me, which of these resonates most with your experience? Drop your thoughts in the comments! 🚀

  • You might not be able to avoid a crisis, Even with the best of preparation. Yet, the way you prepare your organization for a real crisis matters. Who would lead and govern it? You can have the best business continuity plan in place. And yet. When crisis strikes, keep your cool and follow the process. Facts first. Can supply chain fix it without commercial involved? Great. If not, activate a broader cross-functional crisis management team. Define who needs to be on the team. Define your response strategy. Communicate clearly with one voice! Keep a strong governance. Learn from it. Refine your BCP. What have you learned from your last crisis? Leave it in the comments.
