WHEN ORGANISATIONS GROW… they might get lost in translation. I have worked in big corporates, scale ups and have been in touch with start ups. And this is what I observed over time. What was once clear, fast, and experimental — slowly becomes structured, risk-averse, and… comfortable. 1️⃣ Clarity on Purpose: What was obvious to the founders becomes diluted as new layers get added. The mission is written, but no longer felt. 2️⃣ Commercial Acumen: Entrepreneurial instincts are replaced by reports and KPIs. The “why” behind decisions gets buried under the “how.” 3️⃣ Entrepreneurial Risk-taking & Accountability: People stop taking ownership because someone else “owns the process.” 4️⃣ Speed & Agility: Meetings replace movement. Experiments wait for approvals. Progress slows to avoid mistakes. 5️⃣ Customer Obsession: Internal alignment takes priority over customer delight — the focus shifts inward. 6️⃣ Cross-functional Collaboration: Silos creep in. Teams optimize for their own metrics instead of shared outcomes. BUT WAIT These six traits built the business in the first place. To scale without losing them — hire people who question their own experience, who bring structure but protect curiosity. Build scalable processes in a way that support accountability and experimentation whilst keeping growing companies safe. 💬 Which of these six dimensions do you see fading most as organizations grow? Stay tuned, as I will share my thoughts on how to partially unwind complexity in enterprises to get engagement back for more business impact. #Leadership #BusinessTransformation #Culture #Entrepreneurship #GrowthMindset
