🔍📊 #IncomingTourism 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Despite a cautious start to 2025 and continued volatile conditions causing uncertainty among consumers, 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 #TourismSector 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. According to preliminary figures from the Federal Statistical Office, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝟭.𝟱% 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗼𝗻-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟳.𝟲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻. From January to May, the total climbed to 28.7 million, just 0.3% below the strong figures of 2024. This encouraging development supports tourism businesses in making up for Q1 setbacks and signals renewed momentum across the industry. Optimism is further boosted by the latest findings of the European Travel Commission: 𝟳𝟳.𝟮% 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 📈 Additional indicators underline this positive trend: ForwardKeys reports a 𝟰.𝟵% 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘀 to Germany in May 2025 compared to the previous year. At the same time, 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝟳𝟰.𝟭% – 𝘂𝗽 𝟱.𝟰 % 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻– and average room rates increased by 3.7%, reflecting consistently high demand (MKG Consulting). With 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, we are well positioned to further strengthen our role as a leading travel destination. Unified objectives, collective accountability   The Vienna Tourist Board is now a proud member of the “International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories” (INSTO) of UN Tourism. Thank you Dirk Glaesser from UN Tourism and Elisabeth Zehetner, the Austrian State Secretary for Tourism, of the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft, Energie und Tourismus for being part of this initiative.   Vienna has refined its #VisitorEconomyStrategy. Its title “Optimum Tourism” represents good growth. Growth that strengthens the city's qualities without exploiting them. In this context, the UN-network is providing our #VisitorEconomy with a new #Compass by helping us collect and analyze data that adhere to #InternationalStandards.
