Job Description:
- A CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Engineer is responsible for creating and modifying technical designs and drawings using computer software.
- They play a crucial role in the product development process, collaborating with design teams, engineers, and architects to translate conceptual ideas into detailed and accurate 2D and 3D models.
- We are seeking a skilled CAD Engineer to join our design team and contribute to the development of innovative products.
- The CAD Engineer will be responsible for creating and modifying technical drawings, models, and blueprints using CAD software.
- They will work closely with designers, engineers, and architects to translate conceptual designs into accurate and detailed technical specifications.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in CAD software tools.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and architects to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Create accurate 2D and 3D models, drawings, and blueprints using CAD software.
- Modify existing designs to incorporate changes and improvements as directed by the project team.
- Ensure that all designs and drawings adhere to industry standards and specifications.
- Experience of GD&T, ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 (2018 preferred).
- Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of designs to identify any errors or discrepancies.
- Work closely with the engineering team to resolve design issues and optimize designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
- Provide support during the prototyping and testing phases, making necessary adjustments to designs as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of design changes, revisions, and versions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the design and development process.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in CAD software and techniques, and recommend process improvements as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field (Preferred but not required).
- Proven experience as a CAD Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical design standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating and modifying technical drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve design issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials is desirable.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) software is a plus.
