I joined a practice affiliated with the National Vision Doctor of Optometry network in 2015 and have never looked back. Being a part of this network has provided me with numerous professional and personal benefits. As a doctor, I value that my practice allows me to practice full-scope optometry without the pressure to sell and is truly patient-first. I am able to make all decisions in the best interest of my patients, as my sole priority is to focus on providing quality eye care. This includes fully-equipped exam lanes and support staff to manage scheduling, billing and patient flow. We have EMR systems and administrative support so we can focus on clinical care. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance allows me to be a more effective and compassionate provider to my patients. I appreciate the generous PTO offered, which gives me the opportunity to spend quality time with my family and pets. In addition, our Annual Continuing Education Symposium allows me to merge my career development with meaningful personal experiences. I make it a tradition to combine this with a family vacation and always look forward to this part of my professional development every year. This year, during our CE Symposium in Phoenix, AZ, I had the chance to visit the Desert Botanical Garden with my family and see some enormous cacti. Although I enjoy practicing as an optometrist in the network, it has also provided me with the opportunity to take on a leadership role as an OD Ambassador for 2025-2026. Working alongside National Vision has been truly a rewarding experience. I feel supported both professionally and personally from the clinical autonomy in patient care to my practice’s commitment to work-life balance. I value teamwork and the National Vision Doctor of Optometry network has given me a sense of community. Because of this positive experience, I am passionate about giving back to the organization and my practice by helping to welcome new doctors to join our expanding family. #MoreThanMeetsTheEye
