We are excited to announce the launch of the second edition of “Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition in the SADC Region” — a 12-month mentorship initiative dedicated to advancing the careers of female energy professionals across the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The programme supports women in junior to mid-level management roles by providing access to: ✨ One-to-one mentoring with experienced energy professionals ✨ Skills-building and leadership development ✨ Online webinars and networking opportunities All programme participants will be paired with an experienced energy professional as their mentor. Mentors are selected according to the mentees' individual career aspirations. It's a wrap! 🎉🎓 This December we celebrated the successful completion of the very first edition of the mentoring programme, Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition in SADC Region. Designed to advance the careers of junior and mid-career women energy professionals from Southern Africa, this programme welcomed our first cohort of 50 participants from 14 countries. Since our April launch, these incredible ladies have been engaging in online seminars on key energy topics and also holding monthly meetings with their own mentor — hand-picked according to the individual career goals of the mentee. The initiative is run by GWNET and SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE), with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency, the operational unit of International Partnerships Austria.
