  • Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie (UUBO) is delighted to have acted as Nigerian counsel to a syndicate of development finance institutions, including DEG Deutsche Investitions und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, Proparco, and Finnfund, on the restructuring of a syndicated facility of up to US$135 million for the IPT PowerTech Group, a global leader in energy-efficient power systems and telecom infrastructure solutions, operating across the Middle East, Africa (including Nigeria), and Southeast Asia. The IPI PowerTech Group designs, manufactures, and integrates advanced energy systems, including hybrid power and renewable solutions, while also delivering end-to-end telecom infrastructure and managed services such as site maintenance, power management, and fuel logistics. The facility will support IPI PowerTech Group’s expansion in West Africa (including Nigeria) and the Middle East, where the group provides tailored decentralised power solutions and operations and maintenance services to mobile operators. This transaction is a significant step in advancing sustainable telecom energy infrastructure across Africa and the Middle East. By enabling the rollout of efficient hybrid energy systems: combining solar, battery, and generator technologies, the Group’s utilisation of the facility will help industries to reduce diesel dependence, cut operational costs, and lower carbon emissions across telecom networks. The UUBO team was led by our Banking and Finance Partner, Joseph Odianosen Eimunjeze, with support from Senior Associate, Chisom Okolie, and Associates, Aniekan Udo-Okon, and Fortune Ihator. For more information about our Banking and Finance practice and our other practice groups, please contact us at uubo@uubo.org.
