If you go electric, go full electric. Here’s why ⬇️ A recent study by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) shows that the EV transition is rapidly picking up speed, and battery-electric vehicles are not only more affordable but also provide a superior cost advantage across almost all EU countries. This study, commissioned by a coalition of European electric mobility players including Charge France, shows that charging time, driving range, and resale value in BEVs are quickly destroying the barriers that scared away initial car owners and drivers. Cars can now charge in 15 minutes, drive an average of over 544km, and have a higher resale value and lower costs than mature and scalable alternatives as of 2025. But what do we mean when we say “fully electric”? Plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) are, for many people, an attractive alternative to BEVs because they seem a “safe” transition step to electric mobility, rather than going full electric. Many of those fears come from the same points mentioned above, and just a hint of nostalgia, even if they prefer driving electric more. Our message to you: don’t be afraid to go full electric. Based on the report, we see that BEVs: 💵 Save you up to € 1,600 per year with a large BEV compared to a size-equivalent PHEV ♻️ Generate half the CO2 emissions of a comparable PHEV and almost 3x less than a PHEV with company car usage 🚗 Allow Europe to own their mobility and reduce the imports of total oil by 15% in 2035, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.
