Last week our Vekoma Rides Parts & Services team had the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes at Walibi Holland’s Repair & Maintenance Department. This visit wasn’t just about observing. It was about learning, exchanging ideas, and bringing back insights that help us and our partners keep attractions safe, reliable, and enjoyable worldwide. After a warm welcome, we enjoyed an insightful presentation from Ron Mitchel Smit, Wouter Dijkman, and Ferry Elemans, who explained how Walibi organizes maintenance and inspections and the technical challenges they face. Following the presentation, we toured the workshop, where trains from Speed of Sound and Xpress: Platform 13 were undergoing their annual maintenance. This gave us a close look at how structured planning and thorough documentation keep operations running smoothly and prevent costly downtime. In the afternoon, we explored several Vekoma attractions, taking a ride on Xpress and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the mechanics of Merlin’s Magic Castle. These insights highlighted the importance of preventive maintenance, attention to critical components, and efficient scheduling. Practices that help teams work smarter, reduce risks, and deliver a flawless guest experience. Our shared goal is to keep attractions safe, extend ride life, and deliver unforgettable guest experiences. We take these learnings back to improve our processes and, more importantly, to support you with tailored strategies, original parts, and training as your trusted service partner!
