On 8th May, DOF was awarded an emergency #CableRepair project and just 31 days later, Skandi Inventor was mobilised for the #offshore phase. A massive achievement for our team, who delivered full #engineering and installation analysis, equipment fabrication, mobilisation and offshore execution in record time. 🌊 From 1st June, Skandi Inventor completed sea trials of its new Kystdesign WROVs and calibration of crane AHC systems. Between 10th and 13th June, installation of the cable handling equipment — 9.2m reel, Motive RDS, IHC Breakback Tensioners, chutes, and Rotech CFE and cable cut & grab tooling, was completed. The team then loaded the replacement 220kV export cable from storage in Wind NL in Velsen before sailing to location and Installing it offshore to reconnect over 50 turbines to shore. Key milestones ticked off: ✅ Cable installation, jointing and subsea deployment ✅ Full system cable testing ✅ Energisation confirmed — power flowing back to the grid ✅ Deburial & reburial completed with CFE equipment and Kystdesign Constructor ROVs 👷 Over 100 personnel supported this huge effort, showcasing DOFs standard of teamwork and collaboration to get the project ready to go operational, in a short period of time. 🎥 Watch the full story, here 👇
