Spent the weekend reflecting on an awesome experience at the Digital Financial Services Summit in Sydney. Huge thanks to the organisers Forefront Digital Community and everyone who joined the conversation. I loved the insights on AI, customer experience, and how tech can support humans and build trust. I was especially moved by the keynote speaker Tracy Hall. Her story of financial and emotional betrayal, and her advocacy for fraud prevention, resilience, and financial empowerment, really resonated. The summit was extra special as it represented my first international speaking event. I was proud to share how Sharesies is on a mission to create financial empowerment for everyone—and to represent the smart people behind the work its taking to get there. Speaking of gratitude, a big thank you to the team at Braze for the invite to come along for the conversation. I loved connecting with so many leaders and swapping practical ways to elevate our digital strategies. Let’s keep the momentum going! P.S. Sydney-siders, if you’re interested in exploring more about AI in financial services, Sharesies is hosting a panel discussion “Powering Australia’s AI Future” later this month. Seats are limited, so register now and secure your spot. Link in the comments.

Next week, Greg Boorer (Founder and CEO of CDC) will be joining us on a panel to discuss how increasing use of technology, including generative AI is driving demand within the digital infrastructure sector. Join Greg and fellow panellists Louise Tong, Deion Campbell, and Sonya Williams, and the team from UBS, to discuss how to strike a balance between meeting energy demands, ensuring security, and advancing net-zero goals. Is the energy grid ready for AI? Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing are driving huge productivity gains for businesses and consumers. But behind the scenes, the extra processing power is putting unprecedented strain on Australia’s energy infrastructure. We’re co-hosting an executive panel in Sydney with UBS to explore this. Joining us are Greg Boorer, Louise Tong, Deion Campbell, and Sonya Williams. We'll be answering the big questions like: "Can the benefits of AI outweigh its growing carbon footprint?" and “What role can business leaders and Governments play in ensuring Australia stays competitive, secure, and on track for net-zero goals?”. From Auckland gridlock to Wellington’s burst pipes, Jarrod says decades of underinvestment have left our infrastructure struggling—while Christchurch shows what’s possible when you invest in a city.
