Situated on the southeastern seaboard of the Sultanate of Oman, overlooking the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean beyond, Port of Duqm becoming an important reality of the ME region’s rapidly transforming maritime landscape. With its deep draft, lengthy quay walls, and expansive basin, Port of Duqm has the trappings of a world-class, multipurpose commercial gateway. At the heart of Port of Duqm’s appeal is its strategic geopolitical location. It is this advantageous location that the Omani government seeks to leverage as it sets out to position Duqm as a safe, stable and business-friendly destination for industrial and economic investment. Indeed, the Port of Duqm in particular stand to reap the benefits of the country’s international reputation as an oasis of tranquility and standard-bearer of regional peace and reconciliation. Duqm Port project is one of the important projects in the Special Economic Zone in Duqm and is a major gateway for investment in the region, which earned its great importance being strategically overlooking the Arabian Sea, making Oman a gateway for the Asian and African continent, plus the port consists of a structure at the highest levels of technical construction of waves breakers (8,7) kilometers in length, commercial berths (2,250) meters in length and (18) meters in depth, Governmental Services berths (980) meters in length and 10 meters in depth, which includes 4 terminals consisting of a Multi-purpose terminal, bulk goods and 2 container terminals plus the dry dock of Oman Dry dock Company which was implemented and operational in 2013. PDC has 3 major roles in Duqm, first the management and the terminal operation of the Port itself, secondly, the management of all logistic zone in the direct vicinity of the port. On a third aspect, PDC is also financing, developing, managing and marketing 2000ha of industrial and petrochemical zone. These zones enjoy an optimal integration with the Port of Duqm.

Port of Duqm has successfully concluded its specialized Dredging and Marine Infra Projects workshop, offering participants valuable hands-on experience and site visits that strengthened their skills in managing and executing dredging projects. Held from 1–4 December 2025, the program was delivered in partnership with DEME Group and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges International, and in collaboration with the Scientific Platform for Port Engineers under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology - Oman. This partnership enabled the transfer of global expertise to support national talent development. Port of Duqm has successfully conducted an Oil Spill Response training for key stakeholders, followed by a practical drill. The exercise activated the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and Oil Spill Response Plan (OSRP), with deployment of Oil Spill Response Equipment (OSRE) to ensure preparedness and resilience. تحتفي #أوكيو_للطاقة_البديلة بوصول أولى شحنات توربينات الرياح لمشروعي رياح 1 ورياح 2، أكبر مزرعتي طاقة رياح في سلطنة عُمان يجري تطويرهما بالشراكة مع "شركة توتال إنرجيز للطاقة المتجددة" الفرنسية، ويضمّان 36 توربينة بطاقة إجمالية يُتوقع أن تصل إلى 234 ميجاواط من الكهرباء النظيفة عند اكتمال التشغيل، مما يجعلهما أكبر منشأة لطاقة الرياح في البلاد. تمثل هذه الخطوة منعطفًا مهمًا لأوكيو في تلبية احتياجات القطاع الصناعي بالكهرباء النظيفة وفتح المجال لتخصيص كميات أكبر من الغاز الطبيعي للتصدير. ومع مضي عُمان بثبات نحو آفاق جديدة في مسيرة الطاقة المستدامة، يسهم هذان المشروعان في تعزيز جاهزيتها لمشروعات طاقة المستقبل وترسيخ حضورها الإقليمي والعالمي في منظومة الطاقة المتجددة. OQ Alternative Energy (#OQAE) celebrates the arrival of the first wind turbine shipments for its Riyah 1 and Riyah 2 projects, the largest wind farms in Oman. Developed in partnership with TotalEnergies Renewables, the two projects feature 36 turbines with a combined capacity of 234 MW of clean electricity once fully operational, making them the largest wind power facilities in the country.
