I'm Alexandra👩💻, a Software Development Engineer within the IT department in Cluj for over a year. I am responsible of developing and maintaining the sales applications used in Orange stores. ✂️How did you discover your passion for knitting? My passion for knitting began in childhood 👧, when my mom, aunt, and grandma taught me many crafts—knitting, sewing, embroidery and more. Those moments sparked a lifelong love for handmade creativity! 🧤 What type of items do you enjoy knitting the most? I’d say my top three are: sweaters 🧥, wool hats 🎩, and socks 🧦. I’m also excited to try knitting toys someday. 🎨 Do you knit more following patterns or do you prefer to improvise? Most of the time, I improvise because I love exercising my creative side during the process. But when I want a sure result, I choose a pattern and follow the instructions closely. 💭 If you could knit something that fully represents you, what would it be? A sweater in my favorite color, decorated with symbols that define me: books, nature, cats, and peace ☮️. 📅 How often do you knit? I mostly knit during the cold months ❄️—almost every day! But even in summer, you might find me knitting on the beach 🏖️. It’s an activity that relaxes me anytime, anywhere. 👉 What’s the most challenging aspect of this hobby? And what’s your most interesting experience? The hardest part is when I make mistakes and have to redo large parts. Yarn and patterns can be unpredictable, and the final result isn’t always what I expect. My most challenging project? A sweater I’ve restarted 3 times 🧥 and I’m still working on it! 🌱 What future plans do you have related to your hobby? I want a large part of my winter wardrobe to be knitted by me, using natural materials like wool, cashmere and alpaca. I was leading training projects for front and back office advisors - and it was more than just a job. It was a space where I learned to build a strong, customer-focused culture and support team development. After 3 meaningful years, I made the decision to return to Romania. It was a natural transition however emotional, but I always hoped our paths would cross again - and they did. In December 2024, I rejoined the Orange ecosystem by Orange Services, continuing the same mission, now from a new perspective. 🖋️What are you responsible of, in your current role? 👩💻As an eLearning Services Specialist within the Digital Learning & Communication Academy team, I’ve been creating digital learning modules for our colleagues in France. It’s where education meets technology, and creativity is key. The field is fast-paced and constantly evolving, which pushes me to learn and grow every day. I love that I get to blend my two passions - learning and tech - into something with real impact. 🖋️Have you felt supported in your career journey here? 🤩Yes, from day one. I was welcomed with openness and professionalism. My colleagues have been incredibly supportive and encouraging, making my transition feel natural. The collaborative environment helped me find confidence in my new role and continue growing. 🖋️What do you love most about Orange Services? ⚖️The balance. They'll explore continuous delivery, Git-based workflows, and infrastructure as code - all while contributing to the open-source Project Sylva. 🌟Ionuț I. & Alexandra Drăgușin, our 2 Cloud Delivery trainees, will deepen their knowledge in cloud computing and IT infrastructure. 🎙️Career Stories @ Orange Services 👋From Support Engineer to Senior Functional Analyst — meet Andreea-Alexandra Cotiata, whose journey is all about growth, learning and the power of a supportive team. Let’s dive in👇: 🖋️Tell us a bit about your journey at Orange Services: 📍I joined the International Operations department over 2 years ago as a Sourcing Support Engineer, helping colleagues with procurement, not knowing how impactful this chapter would be for me. I then moved into a more technical role, streamlining processes as an Expert Sourcing Support Engineer. A front-end dev internship pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me a fresh perspective on product development. Later, I became an Oracle Fusion Support Coordinator, leading operations and growing my leadership skills. Now, as a Senior Functional Analyst, I feel confident bringing value to both the team and our users through experience, collaboration and a hands-on approach. 🖋️What does your current role involve? 👩💻As an Oracle Fusion Senior Functional Analyst, I handle functional analysis and support for Oracle Fusion. I work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and turn them into functional solutions. I also take part in configuring and testing new features, supporting users, and making sure processes are both optimized and aligned with business goals. 🖋️What technologies do you use in your projects? 🤖My main focus is Oracle Fusion and I also use SQL for reporting and analysis. Tools like Jira and Confluence help with task management and team collaboration. 🖋️Did you receive support in your growth journey? 🫶Absolutely. The support I’ve received has made a huge difference. I’ve had managers who believed in me and encouraged me to take on new roles, even when I wasn’t sure I was ready. My colleagues have always been generous with their time and advice — even during the busiest moments. I’ve had access to training, but even more importantly, to people who genuinely wanted to help me grow. 🖋️What do you like most about Orange Services? 🤝The sense of community. No matter the project, I’ve always felt I could ask for help without hesitation.
