As part of Mölnlycke’s Net Zero journey, all our sites and headquarters are already powered by 100% renewable electricity. To build on this achievement and further strengthen the resilience of our manufacturing against external energy supply fluctuations, we are now expanding our own on-site renewable generation capacity at multiple sites. Most recently, Mölnlycke’s Bangplee factory in Thailand joined several other sites (in Malaysia and the UK) in implementing rooftop photovoltaic panels. The system is expected to generate 1 GWh electricity per year, which corresponds to 25-30% of the site’s annual electricity consumption. Fitting solar panel systems not only reduces emissions but also increases the supply of renewable energy to the grid. #WeCare #renewables #NetZero

Did you know that more than 70% of glove breaches go undetected by clinicians during operative procedures?¹ New research published in the Journal of Hospital Infection highlights the critical role of double gloving with indicator systems in reducing glove breaches during surgery – a key risk factor for surgical site infections. The scoping review study reveals critical insights for healthcare leaders: surgical glove breaches are frequent, often undetected, and directly linked to increased infection risk. This means: - Higher risk of surgical site infections (SSIs) - Increased treatment costs and extended hospital stays - Greater liability and compliance challenges The study confirms that double gloving with an indicator system significantly improves breach detection and reduces risk – a simple, evidence-based strategy to enhance patient safety and protect staff. At Mölnlycke, we’re proud to support this advancement in best practice. It’s time to rethink gloving protocols and align with the latest evidence. 📄 Read the full press release and see how small changes can drive a big impact.
