”Some conferences are just a change of scenery. But others become the very place where a community comes alive.” In November, Reach for Change had the privilege of joining the SIA Summit, and we’re still energized by the conversations, connections, and collective ambition we witnessed. Our Senior Project Manager, Marija Mazic, represented us on site, bringing forward our focus on building strong partnerships, supporting social innovators and contributing with our expertise where it’s most needed. Future Forward, our collaboration with the Social Impact Award (SIA) Bulgaria, was highlighted throughout the event as a strong, value-creating partnership. Both teams emphasized how aligned the project was with our strategic focus and EU priorities. One story stood out. Thanks to the connections formed during our first Immersion Week, Vihren Mitev, Ph.D., an entrepreneur from our Scaling Readiness program, went on to become a SIA Host. This step opened new doors for him, from broader networks and professional exposure to an additional income stream and deeper engagement within the international ecosystem, a powerful reminder of what collaboration can unlock for individual entrepreneurs. Marija also highlighted our ongoing work with Next in Mind, in collaboration with The Inner Foundation and Tim Bergling Foundation, especially as the mental health of young people and social entrepreneurs surfaced as a recurring theme. Conversations with professors, EU representatives, support organizations, corporate partners and social entrepreneurs from four continents reinforced how strongly social entrepreneurship empowers young people to take an active role in shaping their future. The key insight we’re bringing home from the SIA Summit is clear: no challenge worth solving can be tackled in silos. We need each other, to learn, motivate, challenge and complement one another. 💫Collaboration isn’t just a value, it’s the only way forward. And when you do the right work with the right people, you create the conditions for real, sustainable impact. #ReachforChange #SIASummit #SocialImpactAward #FutureForward

Unleashing the power of local social entrepreneurs for children and youth
Om oss
Reach for Change believes that one person can change the world. One person with true passion, an entrepreneurial spirit and an innovative idea. But we also know that this person needs support - someone who believes in the idea and are willing to take an early risk. This is where we come into the picture. We enroll exceptional local social entrepreneurs into our support programs, people who truly have a passion and an innovative idea for creating a better world for children and youth. And we help them to go from an idea to a sustainable solution. We have now done this for over 10 years, and during this time supported over 1200 social entrepreneurs, in 18 countries across Europe and Africa, who in turn have reached 4.3 million children and youth.

👋Meet Alemu Tesfaye, our new Education and Learning Officer! Alemu joins the Reach for Change team, where he will play an important role in delivering the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship program. With a strong background in educational development, he will support EdTech Fellows in developing and strengthening digital learning products that align with user needs, educational goals, and the Ethiopian curriculum. What drew Alemu to Reach for Change is our commitment to empowering social entrepreneurs, something he sees as essential in a country with a large and dynamic youth population. He believes that when young innovators gain access to coaching, grants, and the right networks, they unlock the potential to create meaningful solutions that drive both social and economic progress. His excitement about stepping into a role that supports the EdTech Fellowship program comes from his strong belief that technology has the power to transform education. 🤝Strong partnerships power meaningful change At Reach for Change, we know that true impact happens when committed people and organizations come together behind a shared purpose. That’s why we’re proud to highlight our long-standing collaboration with Kivra and Hogia-gruppen, partners who have been with us since 2020 and continue to strengthen our mission to improve the lives of children, youth and vulnerable groups. Our Country Manager Sweden, Andréa Råsberg, highlights how essential committed partners are to our ability to support social entrepreneurs and strengthen local communities. The engagement from Kivra and Hogia reflects the shared ambition that brought this partnership to life, to contribute, to create impact, and to be part of something that makes a difference. Together, we’ve supported social entrepreneurs and we’ve also been able to act quickly in moments of crisis. When the war in Ukraine escalated, their support enabled meaningful assistance to refugees through Hug (Help Ukraine Gothenburg), facilitated via our Incubator Program. It’s a clear reminder of what becomes possible when values, expertise, and determination meet. A heartfelt thank you to Kivra and Hogia, and to Disa Jernudd, and Annica Gilbertson, for your commitment and trust. We look forward to continuing this journey together. #ReachforChange #Kivra #Hogia #Partnership

🌍 Today, on Social Enterprise Day, we pause to celebrate something extraordinary. Not just a date in the calendar, but a global reminder of what happens when bold ideas meet unstoppable passion. As our CEO, Sofia Breitholtz, puts it: “Today is a day to highlight the powerful journeys of all the social entrepreneurs out there, those creating innovative solutions for people and the climate every single day, building a more inclusive world.” At Reach for Change, we are proud to stand beside these visionaries. Since 2010, we have met dreamers, doers and determined social entrepreneurs who wake up every day to create solutions that make life better, for children, for youth, for communities and for our planet. And together, we’ve achieved something remarkable: ✨ Supported more than 3,000 Change Leaders and those aspiring to change ✨ Reached over 5 million children, youth and vulnerable groups ✨ Engaged 2,000+ stakeholders building a stronger, more supportive ecosystem for social entrepreneurs And we know our support makes a difference, 87% of our Change Leaders say new doors opened thanks to our programs, and 92% share that their organization wouldn’t be where it is today without Reach for Change. Behind every number is a story. A child gaining access to education. A young person finding their path. A community discovering hope. A social entrepreneur unlocking a door that had long been closed. So today, we celebrate them, and we celebrate us. The courage of the entrepreneurs. The commitment of the partners. The relentless energy of our team. And the growing movement of people who believe that social innovation can, and will, change the world. #ReachforChange #SocialEnterpriseDay #SocialEntrepreneurship

At this year’s Africa Startup Ecosystem Builders Summit & Awards(ASEB), we had the opportunity to share our perspective on what it takes to build a stronger and more connected innovation ecosystem in Africa. As part of these conversations, Reach for Change was recognized for our ongoing work to strengthen systems and support early- and growth-stage innovators. This recognition reflects a growing ecosystem where collaboration is becoming a shared priority 🌍 During the summit, our Country Manager Ethiopia, Mekdim Gullilat Aberra, spoke about the new wave of African entrepreneurs transforming ideas into meaningful solutions, and the gaps in coordinated support that still make early-stage growth challenging. As she emphasized: “When you give an entrepreneur the right support at the right moment, you help a community move forward.” We were proud to showcase our change leaders under Building Waste and Circular Enterprises Project implemented in partnership with IKEA Foundation, who presented their innovations and connected with ecosystem actors from across Africa, opening doors to new partnerships and market opportunities. 💫To all partners, ecosystem builders, and innovators driving this progress: thank you. Together, we’re shaping an environment where social enterprises can truly thrive. #ReachForChange #ASEBAwards
