Press release: First-ever wideband polylingual direct-to-Earth demonstration. 🛰️ SSC supports the first-ever Ka-band polylingual experimental terminal (PExT), through a direct-to-Earth demonstration via SSC’s ground station network 🌐 Run by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, PExT is testing a first-of-its-kind, in-flight technology allowing spacecraft to communicate across frequencies, incl. both government and commercial networks. “We are proud to be one of the few networks selected for this groundbreaking NASA demonstration, aiming to prove interoperability across multiple ground assets. This addresses a whole new market segment, not least by enabling post-launch service additions. Our ground stations will ensure a reliable link between Earth and space,” says Dan Narey, Business Development Director at SSC - Swedish Space Corporation. SSC will support the demonstration during extended mission operations throughout ~50 LEO passes, with partner German Aerospace Center (DLR). 🚀 Galileo L14 successfully launched! On 17 December, ARIANESPACE launched two new Galileo satellites on Ariane 6, marking a major milestone for Europe’s independent navigation capability. We’re proud to support the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) with five expert teams and our Ground Station operations. 📡 🛰️ From months of mission simulations to 24/7 spacecraft operations, ground segment monitoring, global antenna support and preparations, our colleagues contributed to a smooth and confident start to the mission.   A huge thank you to everyone involved across Training & Simulations, Flight Control, Ground Operations, Spacecraft Controller routine teams, and to our Ground Station Operations team worldwide monitoring the spacecraft signal and ensuring continuous availability of all ground links. 💫 And a special thank you to our partners at DLR GfR mbH, GSOC, DLR-Institut für Frontier Materials auf der Erde und im Weltraum.
