Mind to motion.
Last week at Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH), we joined Shri S. (Director of Product Management, Issac Robotics Platform at NVIDIA Robotics), Lim Shih Hsien (EVP, IT/OT/Cyber at Seatrium), Eric Gui (Founder & CEO at AI² Robotics), and Harold Soh (Associate Professor, NUS School of Computing at National University of Singapore), as they delved into the future and potential of Embodied AI.
The 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐈 panel explored how we can achieve practical milestones for embodied AI to move beyond aspirational visons and into reality. Some key learnings include:
🦾 Bridging the sim-to-real gap will be critical – while high fidelity simulations can accelerate training, real-world data feedback remains indispensable.
📊 Data scarcity is a central challenge – unlike large language models (LLMs), embodied AI must rely on domain-specific, multimodal, and synthetic data to scale learning.
🤝 Cross-sector collaboration will define progress – from hardware innovation to interoperability standards, partnerships between research, corporates, and startups will shape how embodied intelligence takes root globally.
As #AI and the physical world converge, #Singapore aims to play a defining role in translating embodied AI from research to deployment, through industrial pilots, robotics testbeds, and partnerships that bridge technology and application.
