Our journey began in 2001, when our founder Göksel Görkem established Medist Group. Over nearly two decades, the company became one of Turkey’s most trusted healthcare distributors, representing global med-tech leaders, generating multi-million-euro revenues, and earning multiple international sales champion awards before a successful exit in 2019. This legacy of trust, integrity, and patient focus laid the foundation for OrtoBiomed Technology & Innovation A.S. Today, our mission is clear: to build the future of healthcare, starting now. We specialize in delivering advanced orthopedic and biotech solutions that directly enhance patient care. Beyond products, we create value through education, training, and knowledge-sharing — from cadaver labs and online webinars to private workshops and congress presentations. In Türkiye, we actively participate in an average of 12 national orthopedic congresses every year, while also taking part in global events such as AAOS, EFORT, ISAKOS, SICOT, ESSKA, and Arab Health, ensuring that physicians stay connected with the latest innovations worldwide. Our network today includes 60+ key opinion leaders, 16 sales representatives, 4 regional managers, and 30+ sub-distributors, giving us a strong presence from Turkey to the Middle East, EMEA, and Central Asia. For us, success is not measured only in numbers. True success is when a patient lives better, a surgeon performs with greater confidence, and innovation transforms everyday clinical practice.     A question I get often is, “How do you have time to be at this trade show if you’re running your company?” It’s simple: Priorities. There’s nothing more important I could be doing than getting out there to meet our customers. They are our lifeblood, and supporting them like we do is why we’re still in business after 15 years. I have to make time to go to trade events because the net benefit on that time spent is unmatched. As the founder, you’re the best salesperson. No one can match your passion, enthusiasm and cache you have with people interested in your product. And that means, at key moments, you need to be out there selling. When they hear your story, the Big Why behind the product, and feel your conviction to them and their customers, you’ll close the big deals and send them off inspired. I can do my emails, take zoom calls, make key decisions from a hotel room. That’s easy. But I can only shake hands and crack a joke with a big potential customer if I’m out in the field selling what I believe in. That’s why I go to these shows. Sales are a priority. Ask yourself what’s the most important thing I could do today to move my business forward. Prioritize the right things and your business will flourish. What's one thing are you prioritizing above all else this year?
