My daughter is going back to school this week. We did it. We survived the 6-week summer holidays. 🙃 Don’t get me wrong. I love her to bits. But somewhere between week 4 snack requests and week 5 meltdowns over absolutely nothing, I found myself whispering: “Is it September yet…?” And then I remembered that old Staples commercial. Parents skipping through the aisles to “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” while the kids look like they’re walking to their doom. 30 years later, I get it. Completely. So here’s to: Packed lunches. Forgotten PE kits. The peace and quiet of that first coffee in a silent house. Shoes that mysteriously never fit in September. The school WhatsApp group firing back into action at 7:02 am. To all the parents out there. We made it.
