About us
Battery metals are helping to underpin technology, the energy transition and ultimately the pathway to decarbonisation. Metals One is defining battery metals resources at brownfield projects in Europe, for Europe. We believe that there is an increased demand for battery minerals as a result of the growth in the electric vehicles and energy storage markets. We anticipate significant demand for metals such as nickel, lithium, cobalt and copper. It is estimated that these minerals will be needed at scales significantly beyond current production levels due to the growing adoption of electric vehicles globally and the need for electric vehicle batteries with higher energy densities.

Ignacio Mehech Mehech, CEO of CleanTech Lithium (AIM: CTL), commented: "We believe we are the only applicant eligible to apply for the CEOL at Laguna Verde under the Ministry’s streamlined process. We hold well over the 80% of the mining concessions in the CEOL polygon required by the Ministry, we have formed a consortium with a financially strong partner, and we bring extensive experience in the mining and lithium extraction industry, both in Chile and globally. Our application has been submitted a month before the deadline, and we can expect to the hear back from the Government in February 2026, if not before. Their Laguna Verde project is emerging as one of Chile's most promising direct lithium extraction projects.
