Hedge Fund Performance in July – Key Highlights - Stock-picker funds delivered solid performance, returning nearly +1.5% in July and are up about +7.8% year-to-date. - Systematic (quant-driven) funds endured one of their worst months on record, initially posting steep losses but recovering somewhat to finish with approximately –2% for the month. Despite the setback, they remain up around +10% year-to-date. - Multi-strategy funds saw muted results: - Schonfeld’s flagship Strategic Partners fund dropped about –0.3% in July, though it’s up +5.8% for the year. - Its Fundamental Equity fund gained +1.4%, bringing its year-to-date return to +7.1%. - Marshall Wace had mixed outcomes: - It’s Market Neutral TOPS fund dipped about –0.2% yet is up approximately +11% for the first half. - It’s Eureka fund gained +1.6% in July, now up +6.1% year-to-date.
