I’m not sure what the collective noun is for a group of Trade Associations is but apparently there were over 120 including NAPIT at the Trade Association Forum Parliamentary event this evening. Good to hear from Department for Business, Innovation and Skills Minister Chris Bryant on how trade associations are delivering economic growth on behalf of their members across the UK. NAPIT members are essential for delivering the Government’s key growth agendas. I also managed to audition for a role on the front benches!

NAPIT Welcomes the Press Release Statement on the Amendment 4 (2026) to BS 7671:2018 (IET Wiring Regulations) from IET & BSI BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 will be published on 15 April 2026, marking the second full consolidated amendment to the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. Key changes include: • A new chapter on Stationary Secondary Batteries • A new section on Functional Earthing and equipotential bonding for ICT systems • A new section covering Power over Ethernet (PoE) • A major revision of Medical Locations (Section 710) Amendment 4 can be implemented immediately upon publication, with the previous version withdrawn six months later.
