Yesterday marked International Men’s Day - a global occasion to celebrate men and boys’ lives, achievements and contributions, whilst addressing some of the key issues that affect them.
To celebrate International Men’s Day, we hosted a series of staff workshops, as well as a panel event with inspiring guest speakers, aimed at improving the understanding of how we can support men across our business whilst promoting positivity.
In our workshops we discussed six key pillars:
- Positive male role models, not just movie stars and sports men, but everyday men.
- Men’s positive contributions to society, community, family, marriage, childcare, and to the environment.
- Men’s health and wellbeing including social, emotional, physical and spiritual.
- Discrimination men face including areas of social services, social attitudes and expectations and law.
- How we can all improve gender relations and promote gender equality
- And finally, how we can create a safer, better world; where people can be safe and grow to reach their full potential.
