ABM doesn’t have to be complex or expensive. Here are the top 10 lessons I've learned from the ABM workshop for B2B companies with Andrei Zinkevich Vladimir Blagojević. Some key takeaways: 1. Cluster your ICP - Cluster based on common challenges rather than industry classification. - Easier to create relevant messaging and content. - Higher probability of sales opportunities. 2. Alignment between sales & marketing. - SDR, ABM marketer, RevOps, VP of marketing, etc., all have their definitions of who the champions and decision-makers are. 3. Start with one ABM program and build up gradually. 4. ABM can have different goals. - Churn rate for at-risk accounts, expansion, new features. - Churn rate analysis helps identify at-risk accounts and informs retention strategies. 5. Don't use ABM in new markets without prior experience. 6. Warm up accounts and build relationships. - Relationships are key (what software are they currently using, what challenges do they have?). 7. Sales often complain about accounts that they have never heard of. - Start with awareness initiatives and make sure they know what you do, not just recognize your brand. 8. ABM is only for your Tier 1 & Tier 2 accounts. - 1-to-many is NOT an ABM program. 9. LTV should be at least €30,000. 10. ABM is not a quick fix or short-term solution. - Long-term strategies require consistent effort and patience to get results - Start with an open conversation with the leadership team, if they want to see results in one month, it doesn’t make sense to start. In the end, the key to successful ABM is focus, alignment, and patience. It’s a long-term game, but the results are well worth the investment.

𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 “The system is learning.”  • Behavior modifies journey paths in real time  • Offers and content adapt to intent  • Feedback loops continuously tune decision logic 🔁 This is the real promise of Adobe. And the hardest part to unlock. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: "அறிந்தாற்றிச் செய்கிற்பாற்கு அல்லால் வினைதான் சிறந்தானென்று ஏவற்பாற் றன்று." Attribution should be useful, not accurate. And used for decision-making, not scorekeeping ...so you’re now using multi-touch attribution. You are a better marketer for it, seeing the orchestra rather than the instruments, optimizing for harmony instead of tuning the tuba. Now, if only you could make your model more accurate, right? No. Instead, focus on usefulness: Embrace useful fictions. A simplified model that drives broad action beats a try-hard model that takes long to digest and pigeonholes your thinking. Ask specific questions to get directionally helpful answers. "Which channels are trending up in conversion influence for this audience segment?" beats "What's the exact contribution of each channel?". As a rule, don’t wait for show-stopping insights, be content with momentum and trends. These types of ‘soft’ answers will consistently guide you to spend your marketing dollars better. Everything is in flux, keep asking questions, keep making informed decisions. Spend time perfecting how you can interact with the data. Dashboards are nice. Auto-updating spreadsheets are nicer ( 🌶️ hot take, it seems). Semantic AI that allows you to ‘chat with your data’ is nicest. But let’s not get carried away. 🟢 Notice yourself tinkering with your marketing mix, investing in ideas, media, channels and ad formats based on attribution signals and… your own best judgement! Winners aren't using AI to just *replace* human work.  They're using it to *understand* humans better. REPLACE: A system to write and publish SEO optimised blog posts. UNDERSTAND: A system to analyse support tickets, sales calls and customer interviews then share insights with the entire company weekly.

If you want execs to take product marketing seriously… Stop talking in open rates. Start talking in revenue 💰 The best PMMs don’t just ship assets. They surface leverage. You want to earn a seat at the table? Start showing up with insights like: 📈 “Our closed-won rate is 3x higher in this segment - why aren’t we focusing more here?” 🆚 “We’re losing to [Competitor X] in 60% of head-to-head deals - here’s what we can do about it.” 📉 “This drop in [Product Y] usage signals NRR risk, these accounts are likely to churn within 90 days.” PMM isn’t just about go-to-market execution. It’s about influencing the bets the business makes. The language of PMM should be the language of growth, retention, and competitive advantage. That’s when execs start listening...and thinking "Oh sh*t, this person is actually thinking strategically about the business" That’s when PMM becomes indispensable.
