The Hayes House is the historic home of the family that owned and operated the notable TN Walking Horse farm located at what is currently Harlinsdale Park, which resides on the National Register of Historic Places as well as being within a Historic Overlay district within the City of Franklin. The Hayes House interiors pay homage to the legendary walking horses on the property and the family who raised them. This property is a wonderful example of a rural Victorian Farmhouse and the guiding principle for this project was restoration.   This restoration project was the culmination of the long-term vision of a variety of community stakeholders including Friends of Franklin Parks and the City of Franklin. The goal was to restore and renovate this home to allow it to find new life as a space to educate about the history of the property, hold small events inside and larger events in the yard, and finally provide an office for the Friends of Franklin Parks in the upstairs attic.   Great care was taken as we sought to breathe new life into this special place and adapt the structure to its new commercial use by providing accessibility to make it both safer to the public and more available to a wider audience

Ranked in the top 25 hotels in the South by Condé Nast Traveler, The Harpeth Hotel is a luxurious, boutique hotel in the heart of Franklin. The Harpeth, just a few blocks from our office space, is a 119 room hotel, featuring restaurants 1799 Kitchen and Cocktails and McGavock’s Coffee Bar and Provisions. An ambitious undertaking several years in the making, the Harpeth Square Mixed-Use development has a transformative impact on an underutilized portion of the downtown Franklin Historic District. Harpeth Square consists of The Harpeth Hotel and Harpeth Square Apartments, encasing a common garage. Both programs benefit from the shared on-site resort style amenities. The garage is internally located to afford minimal disruption to the historic streetscape, resulting in four activated street elevations. The exterior architecture complements its surroundings, with the hotel’s grand portico representing a modern reflection of southern architectural vernacular, characterized by masonry façades, and meticulous detailing. Classical proportions and traditional details, combine with clean modern lines and massing to create a cohesive whole, allowing a building of today to weave itself well within the fabric of the historic downtown.
