I was more nervous than excited when ai entered the world of video production. But instead of writing it off, I’m leaning in. I first started using ai tools to speed up post, transcripts, selects, concept boards etc. Then I began generating footage. And while I’ve made some wild, visually interesting pieces, here’s the truth: ai video still has a long way to go. It struggles with motion, continuity, emotional nuance, and telling a coherent story, along with a whole host of other things. That said, I think there are some exciting opportunities in using ai generated visuals, particularly for paid and organic social content. When used intentionally, they can grab attention, break the scroll, and create a unique visual language that stands out. AI isn’t a replacement, it’s a tool. But it’s not as simple as typing in a prompt. You still need taste, vision, and storytelling instincts. The craft still matters, maybe more than ever.
