We were honored to attend the Engineering News-Record New York Best Projects Awards Breakfast, where we received a 2025 Sustainability Award of Merit for our work on NYU’s Rubin Hall, the world’s largest residential Passive House renovation. This achievement would not have been possible without New York University’s leadership and foresight. Their commitment to enhancing the environmental performance of a historic residence hall set the foundation for a truly transformative retrofit. Rubin Hall demonstrates that historic buildings can be made significantly more energy efficient with the right vision and a creative, collaborative team willing to explore new solutions to familiar challenges. This project sets a new benchmark for future upgrades, proving that sustainability and preservation can go hand in hand. Today, we honor our nation’s veterans and give thanks for their service and sacrifice. On October 14, our AECOM Tishman team hosted its annual golf event at Forsgate Country Club supporting Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, which works to improve the lives of our country’s heroes. Each year, we present the SSGT Timothy McGill Memorial Award, named in honor of SSGT McGill, who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan. This year, we were proud to recognize Captain Steven Whang, USMC, for his distinguished service. We also presented the inaugural General Raymond Odierno Memorial Award to David Feherty and Rick Kell, co-founders of Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, for their dedication to veterans and their impactful programs such as Operation Warrior Call and Operation Proper Exit.
