Affect, a leading digital health provider for addiction recovery, is expanding its services to include comprehensive mental health care — starting in Ohio, Arizona, and Texas — with additional states to follow soon. This expansion marks a major step toward improving access to affordable, evidence-based care for people living with conditions like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and OCD — whether or not they also struggle with substance use. “Mental health and addiction are deeply intertwined, and people deserve integrated care that meets them where they are,” said Kristin Muhlner, CEO of Affect. “But we also know that millions of people are seeking care for mental health challenges alone — and they’re hitting waitlists, high costs, or dead ends. We’re here to change that.” Affect is one of the few telehealth mental health providers in the U.S. to accept Medicaid and Medicare, along with employer-sponsored and marketplace insurance plans. Services include: - Individual therapy delivered via telehealth - Psychiatric medication management - Evidence-based care using approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care (TIC) - Optional coordination with addiction care for patients with co-occurring disorders Affect’s mental health program is built on the same foundation that drives its addiction treatment success: science-backed care, delivered through a user-friendly app that leverages innovative engagement techniques and gamification. Patients can schedule appointments, join video sessions, message their care team, and complete therapeutic exercises — all from their phone.
