  • Aledade Co-Founder and President Mat Kendall recently spent time visiting with five of our partner primary care organizations in Arkansas to kick off the year. As he reflects on these conversations, one thing becomes crystal clear: regardless of differences in size or resources, every organization shares the goal of achieving better health for their patients and their communities. Read Mat’s full reflections on what makes rural primary care so special and how we're honored to support these incredible teams.

Reflections from the Road: Kicking off 2026 with a visit to Arkansas One of the best parts of my job? Getting to sit down with our primary care partners face to face. This year, I’m going to document my reflections from these visits. My goal is to share how I see value-based care making a difference in clinics, towns and communities across the country. I kicked off 2026 in northwest Arkansas — a place that’s been part of Aledade, Inc.'s journey from the very beginning. When we started working with accountable care organizations (ACOs) here more than a decade ago, we partnered with only a handful of small practices. Today, we’re privileged to serve over 60 primary care organizations across the state. On this trip, I met with five incredible partners: North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, Baxter Health, Lincoln Paden Medical Group, North Central Arkansas Medical Associates and Regional Family Medicine. What struck me most was how much they share the same mission — regardless of their size or resources. Every one of them works toward one clear goal: better health for their patients and their communities. I saw innovation everywhere. Care teams fine-tuning their workflows, building trusted relationships with patients and inventing creative ways to keep people healthy and out of the hospital. I heard directly from patients about how much these connections matter — from annual wellness visits to regular blood pressure checks, and simply having quality time to talk with their doctor. Practicing value-based care in rural communities takes resilience, creativity and deep local ties. These partners show that with the right team, the right processes and the right focus, better outcomes are possible anywhere — whether in a big city or a small Ozarks town. A special shout-out to our outstanding Aledade field team — led by Jackie Crain MSN, RN, ASEC and supported by Kara Masters, RHIA, CPC, CPHIMS, Lacey Vericker,RHIA,CPHIMS, Dana Chaney, Dana Dye and so many others. They are the bridge between our tools and resources and the realities of local care, ensuring our partners can thrive every day. Here’s to starting the year alongside people who prove that distance, competition and change aren’t barriers, they’re challenges we can meet with innovation and dedication. #ValueBasedCare #PrimaryCare #RuralHealth

Aledade is committed to providing our partner organizations with data-driven tech tools and educational resources so they can do what they do best: caring for their patients and communities with the dedication that makes all the difference.
