This Thanksgiving brings some welcome news for families and consumers. According to new data from ABA DataBank, the cost of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner has declined for the third straight year. A classic meal for 10 people now averages $55.18, which is a 5% decrease from 2024. One of the biggest contributors to the savings is the turkey. A 16-pound frozen turkey now averages $21.50, down more than 16 percent from last year. Several other staples like stuffing and dinner rolls have also seen price drops, while some fresh produce items remain more expensive. As someone who works in finance, I always find it interesting to see how broader economic trends show up in everyday moments like holiday shopping. Lower food costs might feel like a small win, but for many families it makes a meaningful difference. Wishing everyone a warm, enjoyable Thanksgiving season with the people who matter most!
