Last evening, Cornell Tech and The Cornell Club-New York hosted a timely discussion on how artificial intelligence is transforming the healthcare landscape. From predictive analytics to personalized treatment plans, panelists explored how AI is reshaping patient care, driving innovation, and creating new opportunities for impact in the health tech ecosystem.
Moderated by Tanzeem Choudhury, Chief of Health Innovation and Roger and Joelle Burnell Professor in Integrated Health and Technology at Cornell Tech, the conversation featured insights from Beck Brachman, Co-Founder and CEO of IMPRINT; Ian Chiang ’06, Partner at Flare Capital Partners; Cornell Tech Professor Mert R. Sabuncu, Vice Chair of AI and Engineering Research at Weill Cornell Medicine Radiology; and Fei Wang, Associate Dean of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Weill Cornell Medicine.
“2030 is right around the corner, and AI adoption is going to be a lot faster than we anticipated,” said Chiang. "You will start seeing AI native health care providers with human providers in the loop — and I would say it's not just because of the technology readiness or provider competitiveness, but out of necessity.”
The conversation featured opening remarks from Tara Bishop MD, MPH ’02, Founder and Managing Director of Black Opal Ventures, and closing remarks from Chethan Sarabu, MD ’09, M.D., Director of Clinical Innovation for The Health Tech Hub of the Jacobs Institute at Cornell Tech and Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine.
